The One Movie to Rule them All: Why Jaws is the Best Movie Ever Made

The classic 1975 movie Jaws, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Shaw, has become the gold standard for summer blockbusters, but it has also stood the test of time as one of the best movies ever made, period.

A movie that has it all

Jaws may not be the first movie you think of when you think of a masterful work of art, but it's certainly one of the best. It has an intense plot, great acting, incredible cinematography and unforgettable music that will get stuck in your head for days. It's also one of those movies that can be watched at any time and still make you feel something. So turn off the TV and pop this bad boy into your DVD player; because if you haven't seen Jaws then I'm pretty sure you're doing life wrong. we didn't have to worry about sharks! We were safe on land! And I got to play with my friends all day! But as terrified as I was while watching these scenes unfold onscreen, they were always punctuated with enough humor to keep me from being too scared as a kid! Now as an Adult this Movie gets better and better every time i watch it. There is nothing that comes close in my opinion to casting for this Movie. Although filming it may not have gone without its tensions behind the screen, its a master class on it.

The perfect mix of suspense and terror

Jaws is a movie that can be enjoyed by anyone who likes suspenseful and terrifying movies. The story line of a great white shark terrorizing people on a beach in Amity Island and how the townspeople react to it captures all of these elements, as well as humor, tragedy, and camaraderie. It is one of the most iconic Movies in cinematic history and can also be seen as a turning point for Hollywood. It was nominated for an Academy Award for best sound (lost to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) but won two Oscars for editing (won over Rocky) and music (won over Schindler’s List). But what makes this film so iconic? A gripping soundtrack with unforgettable themes from composer John Williams. And finally, some heart-pounding performances from Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss. Have you ever seen a better scene in Movie history than the USS Indianapolis scene when Quint has Hooper and Chief Brody gripped in the story of how helped "deliver the bomb" Shivers every single time!

A timeless classic

Jaws is a timeless classic that has been named the best movie ever made. It takes place in Amity Island where, after 3 years of peace, a great white shark starts attacking people. This means that Chief Brody and Matt Hooper are called to help and stop this menace from terrorizing the town. It's an incredible story with a lot of suspense that will keep you on your toes at all times. The film is considered one of the scariest movies out there because it knows how to build up tension without being too frightening for younger viewers. And since it's so easy to get attached to characters like Chrissie or Quint, it's hard not to worry about what happens to them by the end. And even though it wasn't filmed in 360 degrees back then, the way Spielberg made us feel like we were there was so effective that you really felt immersed into his world. The cinematography is brilliant - Steven Spielberg won an Oscar for it - and John Williams' score will haunt you forever once you hear the theme music. For these reasons and many more, I think Jaws is the best movie ever made.

Jaws is the one movie to rule them all!

Jaws is a movie that's just as great today as it was when it was released in 1975. The Movie is based on Peter Benchley's best-selling novel, tells the story of a giant great white shark that terrorizes the fictional resort town of Amity Island. There are some differences and i am a Movie fan before an avid reader of Novels, however both incredible stories and the book is still well worth a read and just as iconic as the Movie. Jaws is one of those Movies you can watch again and again, because each time you'll see something new - whether it be small details or something more significant. Even towards the climax of the Movie and that Classic "smile you son of a bitch" moment, your still thinking, how the hell are they going to get out of this alive. Spoiler alert!! obviously Quint (RIP) does not make it. But he does meet his demise gloriously.

I think you could talk all day about Jaws and how fantastic it is even if the Shark looks..........
